A truck driver <\/strong>knows how important it is to provide proper periodic truck sanitization<\/strong>, with special attention to the cab, which, represents a kind of second home, a space that should therefore be kept as healthy and sanitized as possible.<\/p>\n

The Ministry of Transport<\/strong> has communicated specific guidelines regarding procedures for sanitizing work premises, means of transport and work tools.<\/p>\n

At this particular time marked by the Covid-19 health emergency, truck drivers are called upon to take more precautions and keep the transport vehicle and, especially the inside of the truck cab<\/strong>, properly cleaned and sanitized at all times.<\/p>\n

Normally, truck cab sanitization<\/strong> can be carried out once a week, a practice considered sufficient to protect health, but at this time of emergency, it is necessary to intensify the number of times of interventions and procedures for truck interior<\/strong> disinfection and sanitization<\/strong>.

Why is it important to sanitize and sanitize the truck cab?<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n

A periodic program of sanitizing and disinfecting<\/strong> the truck interior<\/strong> is always a good practice, regardless of the current Covid-19 emergency status.<\/p>\n

Truck cab sanitization is a procedure that eliminates bacteria, mold<\/strong>, mites, fungi, yeast, and pollen. It also inactivates viruses; eliminates bad odors, animal hair, food residues; destroys volatile residues of chemical detergents; and keeps flies, mosquitoes, cockroaches, ants and other insects away.<\/p>\n

For example, bacteria, fungi, mold, pollen, and viruses can enter from the truck cab air conditioner<\/strong>, so it is important to periodically check the filters and arrange for their replacement. Mites and dust lurk on seat fabrics, as well as bad odor, stains and food residue, which is why frequent washing and disinfection is necessary.<\/p>\n

In addition, sanitization must also cover all handles in the transport vehicle: steering wheel, levers, buttons, shifter, and even any personal items.

<\/span><\/p>\n

How to sanitize the truck cab?<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n

To properly sanitize and sanitize the inside of the truck, it is not enough to remove dust. Alcohol-based products (ethyl alcohol and isopropyl alcohol) must be used to eliminate germs and bacteria<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

There are a number of effective products on the market designed to sanitize the truck’s cabin<\/strong>.These are sanitizers, some qualified as “Surgical Medical Prescription 19440,”<\/em> which are sold in spray format and can be sprayed on both the cabin surfaces and the air conditioning system. Ozone<\/strong> also proves to be very effective.

<\/span><\/p>\n

Interior sanitization with ozone<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n

Ozone has been recognized by the Ministry of Health<\/strong> as a natural remedy for sanitizing all environments contaminated with viruses, bacteria and spores (Protocol No. 24482, July 31, 1996).<\/p>\n

Ozone sanitization<\/strong> is suitable for sanitizing and deodorizing vehicles in any part and on any kind of surfaces, objects, fabrics.<\/p>\n

The ozone sanitization and sanitization procedure should be performed at a specialized center<\/strong> as special machines are required. The minimum treatment takes 15 minutes<\/strong>, while the maximum treatment takes 45 minutes. The passenger compartment is completely sanitized, including theair conditioning<\/strong> ducts, into which a specific product is injected through a probe, or, through the use of an ozone-based canister.<\/p>\n

You can also opt for do-it-yourself sanitization<\/strong> by purchasing ozone generators to place in the cabin, in which case the cabin must be empty and air recirculation must be turned on with doors and windows closed. When finished, one must wait the times reported on the product for the ozone to become oxygen again and then ventilate the booth before returning to the station.<\/p>\n

The result of do-it-yourself sanitization is good and is indicated when you are on the road a lot and do not always have the opportunity to stop at a specialized center, but for perfect and professional sanitization it is always recommended to rely on professionals, trying to repeat the interventions with a certain frequency and periodicity.

<\/span><\/p>\n

Ministry of Health Guidelines Emergency Covid-19<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n

We summarize the guidelines released by the Ministry of Health<\/strong> to limit Covid-19 infection<\/strong> in this emergency period.<\/p>\n

  • Wash hands often with soap and water or alcohol-based gel<\/li>\n
  • Avoid close contact with people suffering from acute respiratory infections<\/li>\n
  • Do not touch your eyes, nose and mouth with your hands<\/li>\n
  • Cover your mouth and nose with disposable tissues when sneezing or coughing; if you do not have a tissue handy, use the elbow crease<\/li>\n
  • Do not take antiviral drugs or antibiotics without your doctor’s prescription<\/li>\n
  • Clean surfaces with chlorine or alcohol-based disinfectants<\/li>\n
  • Use a mask only if you suspect that you are sick or if you are caring for sick people<\/li>\n
  • Keep in mind that “Made in China” products and packages received from China are not dangerous<\/li>\n
  • Pets do not spread the new coronavirus<\/li>\n
